Request a correctionHow our articles are written
These rules apply to every article and every guide page.
- Primary sources
- We rely on police, consumer advice centres, BaFin, the BSI, Watchlist Internet and legal texts. Every source is listed with its retrieval date at the end of the article.
- Quotations
- A quotation is checked against the original page before it is published.
- Our own figures
- Figures from our own data state the cut-off date and how they were counted.
- No domains from our data
- Examples in the text use domains ending in .example. That way an article never names a shop that our check has rated.
- Updated
- The label Updated only appears on articles whose content has been revised.
