Secure evidence before the shop disappears

Fake shops are often offline within a few weeks, taking the legal notice, product pages and payment details with them. Your bank and the police want evidence of what was there. This page covers what you should secure yourself, what we archive and what the full dossier contains.

For your bank or payment service

You want to reclaim your money, whether by recalling a transfer, returning a direct debit, a credit card chargeback or a PayPal dispute. For that you need to show what you ordered, when you paid and what you did not receive. The sooner you can prove it, the better the chances.

For the police report

The police need the shop address, the recipient IBAN, proof of payment and correspondence. In 14 of 16 German states you can file the report online. The reporting offices page lists which. If the shop is already offline, saved pages help show what was there.

What we preserve

For shops that are on a warning list or that our check rates as Danger, we try to create an archive: a browser opens the pages and saves them as they looked at that moment. This does not always work, for example if the shop is already offline or blocks visits.

We only offer the full dossier when an archive with content exists. We do not sell an empty shell or a mere “not reachable” notice. Price as of 2 October 2026; the amount at checkout is binding.

Why a dossier costs money

The check stays free. Preserving pages, however, costs money on an ongoing basis: a real browser visits the pages, and the archives need storage. The fee for the full dossier helps cover these costs and is not meant to make a profit.

    The result shows whether an archive exists and what it contains, before you pay anything.

  3. Pay

    One-time via Stripe, no account and no subscription.

  4. Download

    You get a download link, by email if you like. It is valid for one year and only for this domain.

For authorities and reporting bodies

Investigating authorities and official reporting bodies can request an authority package. It additionally contains the stored server response, DNS data, the certificate and links to other shops. We do not sell this package.

Questions about evidence preservation

What does “preserved” mean here?

We save the pages as they looked when visited and compute a SHA-256 checksum for every file. If anyone later changes even a single character, the checksum no longer matches. On our side the web archive is also signed and stored with an object lock. Whether a court accepts it as evidence is for the court alone to decide.

Why does the full dossier cost money?

Visiting with a real browser and storing the archives cost money on an ongoing basis. The check result stays free; the fee for the full dossier helps cover these costs.

Do I get anything if the shop is already offline?

Yes, if we archived it beforehand. The dossier then shows the stored state. If there is no archive, we do not offer a full dossier. The check result with date and reasons remains available anyway.

Does the dossier replace my own evidence?

No. Only you have the order confirmation, proof of payment and correspondence. The dossier adds the state of the shop in case it can no longer be reached.

Can authorities obtain the material?

Yes. Investigating authorities and official reporting bodies can request an authority package with additional technical data.

We document snapshots and make changes detectable through checksums. Whether a dossier is used as evidence is decided by the responsible authority or court. We do not provide legal advice and do not promise admissibility in court.
