What we need the money for

Behind every check there are services we pay for by usage. These six items make up the bill.

Servers and storage
The checks, the database and the website run on rented servers.
Fetching the shop pages
Many shops block automated visitors. So we fetch their pages through proxy and scraping services that charge per request.
Language models
A language model handles part of the analysis, such as summarising the reasons in plain sentences. Each call is billed.
Web search
We look for other buyers’ reports through a paid search interface.
Register lookups
We use register services to see whether the company named in the legal notice is in the commercial register. Some of these lookups cost money.
Preserving evidence
We store screenshots and copies of pages from shops that stand out. That storage grows with every shop we preserve.

A donation receipt
Fakeshop AI is not a registered charity. Legally your contribution is not a donation, and you cannot deduct it from your taxes.
Something in return
Your contribution does not buy a product or any access. What is free today stays free for everyone.
Influence on a verdict
Support changes no verdict, no rating and no ranking. Operators of checked shops cannot buy anything from us that improves their result. Anyone who thinks a verdict is wrong can ask for a correction, and that costs nothing.
